Connecticutβs Hartford Stage has announced its 2017β�18 season. Included in the lineup is the McCarter Theatreβs stage adaptation of Agatha Christieβs Murder on the Orient Express, which will head to Hartford following its world premiere in New Jersey.
Helmed by two-time Tony Award nominee Emily Mann and adapted by two-time Tony nominee Ken Ludwig, Murder on the Orient Express is currently playing its world-premiere engagement at the McCarter starring Max von Essen, Allan Corduner, and Julie Halston. The productionβs second stop will be Connecticut, with performances scheduled for spring 2018, though casting has yet to be announced.
Also included in the Hartford 2017β�18 season is Sharon Washingtonβs autobiographical solo show, Feeding the Dragon, a co-production with Off-Broadwayβs Primary Stages. The piece revisits her time growing up in an apartment on the top floor inside the St. Agnes Branch of the New York Public Library, where her father served as the buildingβs custodian.
Completing the season at Hartford: Sarah Gancherβs Seder, Douglas McGrathβs stage adaptation of The Age of Innocence, and Athol Fugardβs Statements After an Arrest Under the Immorality Act.
