Sarah Rice, who originated the role of Johanna in Broadway鈥檚 Sweeney Todd, will be the special guest of entertainer and host Richard Skipper in the Father鈥檚 Day episode of his theatre-themed weekly club series at The Laurie Beechman Theatre in New York City.
The 1 PM June 18 show will celebrate the birthdays of actor Jeanette MacDonald and lyricist Sammy Cahn, and will remember entertainer Peter Allen on the anniversary of his 1992 death. Rice will be joined by baritone Mark Watson, actor-singer David Sabella (first to play Mary Sunshine in the 1996 revival of Chicago), and comedian-singer Warren Schein. A mystery guest is also promised for that day鈥檚 show.
Skipper, who has been artist-in-residence at the Beechman for several years, will be taking a summer-long hiatus after this Father's Day show, returning to Richard Skipper Celebrates September 10.
