News Photo Call: "Les Miz" Film Stars Come Out to Celebrate Anne Hathaway in Off-Broadway's Grounded Grounded, George Brant's new Off-Broadway solo play starring Academy Award-winning "Les Mis茅rables" star Anne Hathaway with direction by Academy Award nominee and two-time Tony Award winner Julie Taymor, officially opened Off-Broadway April 26, following previews that began April 7. The Public held an celebration on April 24.

The award-winning Grounded, in which Hathaway plays a top-gun fighter pilot, runs through May 17 at the Public's Anspacher Theater. It marks the star's first return to Off-Broadway and stage since 2009.

"Anne Hathaway and Julie Taymor are amazing, unique artists, and we are honored to produce them at The Public Theater," said artistic director in an earlier statement. "Grounded is a brilliant and important play, a meditation on the human and moral costs of our astonishing military technology. This promises to be an unforgettable theatrical event, and an important addition to our national conversation."

Brant's solo show won a Fringe First award at the Edingburgh Festival and had an extended run at London's ; it has toured internationally to critical acclaim. Grounded examines the life of a female fighter pilot in the Middle East whose unexpected pregnancy ends her career in the sky. Following the birth of her son, she finds it increasingly difficult to adjust to family life.
