Production photos are in for the Off-Broadway return engagement of Clubbed Thumb's Deep Blue Sound, now in previews at The Public Theater's Shiva Theater. Opening night is March 6, and the run will continue through March 29. Arin Arbus is directing the Abe Koogler play. Get a first look at the production in the gallery below.
Original cast members Tony winner Maryann Plunkett (The Notebook), Armando Riesco, Crystal Finn, and Jan Leslie Harding are reprising their performances as Ella, Chris, Mayor Annie, and Les, respectively; they are joined by Mia Katigbak as Joy Mead, Ryan King as Gary, Miriam Silverman as Mary, Arnie Burton as John, and Carmen Zilles as Ali. Plunkett won an Obie for her performance in the work's 2023 run.
Set on an island in the Pacific Northwest, the work centers on a community gathering called following the disappearance of a local pod of orca whales.
