Jaime Cepero, who created the role of Ellis, the scheming assistant to Broadway composer Tom Levitt on the NBC musical series Smash, will debut some original songs of his own May 20 at 9:30 PM at The Green Room 42.
Songs About Anxiety and the Boys That Played Me will feature special guests Joel Perez (Fun Home), Elijah Caldwell (Generations at Soho Rep), Emma Hunton (Wicked, Next To Normal, The Mad Ones), Michelle Dowdy (Hairspray, The Marvelous Wonderettes), Kevin Curtis (Invisible Thread), Darius Harper (Cirque De Soleil), Larry Hamilton (Madame The Musical), Tatiana Lofton (Oregon Shakespeare), Onyie Vivian Nwachukwu (Rent), and Merril Pfiffer (Mamma Mia!).
Cepero鈥檚 musical Francois and the Rebels, a punk rock re-telling of the 1791 Haitian Slave Revolution, was produced through MTF Musicals at Joe鈥檚 Pub. He recently appeared in the Dallas Theater Center production of Hair.
