A stage adaptation of Noel Streatfeild鈥檚 best-selling book Ballet Shoes will play London's National Theatre this fall.

Penned by Kendall Feaver (The Almighty Sometimes), the festive, family-friendly show will begin performances in the Olivier November 23 prior to an official opening December 5. Katy Rudd, who returns to the National following her acclaimed production of The Ocean at the End of the Lane, will direct.

Ballet Shoes is set in a crumbling house full of dinosaur bones and fossils as three adopted sisters鈥擯auline, Petrova, and Posy鈥攁re learning who they are and what they want to be. Under the watchful eyes and guidance of their guardian Sylvia, Nana, and some unlikely lodgers, they fight to pursue their individual passions.

The upcoming production will also have set design by Frankie Bradshaw, costume design by Samuel Wyer, choreography by Ellen Kane, composition by Asaf Zohar, lighting design by Paule Constable, sound design by Ian Dickinson, and casting by Bryony Jarvis-Taylor.

National Theatre Director Rufus Norris said in a statement, "After the success of The Witches last Christmas, I am thrilled the National Theatre will stage Noel Streatfeild鈥檚 novel Ballet Shoes, with Kendall Feaver鈥檚 adaptation injecting new energy and life into the beloved story. Combined with Katy Rudd鈥檚 theatrical vision, developed with the National Theatre鈥檚 exceptional New Work Department, I couldn鈥檛 be more excited for audiences to experience this classic story as an ambitious new theatre event."

Tickets will go on sale to the general public May 2. Visit .
