Here, via email, we hear from Broadway singing actress , who is currently playing Sandy in the production of the hit musical .
What show recently impressed you?
. I did a reading of the show last year. I was glued to Kelli [O'Hara] and Bart [Sher], fascinated by their passion and commitment in creating something so powerful. Bart is a dream director, and Kelli is someone I so dearly admire. Happy to see success in the hands of such deserving people, sad to see the show closing. It is full of art and beauty in all aspects; though it is not easy to root for infidelity, you will still be moved. I was honored to work with the team and listen to the music every day, so perhaps I am biased.鈥
What production are you most excited to see?
. You know, it is a show I鈥檝e seen so many times. It does not get old. I cannot say that of most shows. I鈥檓 excited for it to be on Broadway! I appreciated the movie, but I can鈥檛 wait to be a part of that audience and really hear the people sing. I also want to see . Love me some ; he鈥檚 awesome in every way. And support some of my favorite Broadway ladies, and , and in Heathers.
What play/musical would you most like to revive on Broadway, and which role would you want to play?
Ohhh brother鈥 don鈥檛 know. I鈥檝e always loved , Amneris, but I suppose that鈥檚 a few years down the road. I wonder when l can graduate from Broadway High School. I would like to try on a more quirky gal. Then, of course, I鈥檇 love to see "Tangled" and/or "Frozen" hit The Great White Way!
What are your current/upcoming projects?
Well, this summer I will be playing Sandy in Grease at Paper Mill Playhouse for a couple months, and then again at the end of the summer at The St. Louis Muny, which is close to home, so I will get to spend time with my family and friends while giving back to the theater community that built me.
