Encores! News Steven Pasquale, Nikki M. James, and More Join Encores! Off-Center Season The lineup includes Stephen Sondheim鈥檚 Assassins and the Kirsten Childs musical The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin.

Encores! Off-Center, New York City Center鈥檚 summer programming that highlights musicals that began Off-Broadway, has announced initial casting for its 2017 season.

Steven Pasquale will star as John Wilkes Booth in Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman鈥檚 Assassins, running July 12鈥�15 at City Center.

Joining him will be Tony nominee Steven Boyer as John Hinkley Jr., Tony nominee Alex Brightman as Giuseppe Zangara, Tony nominee John Ellison Conlee as Charles Guiteau, Clifton Duncan as The Balladeer, Tony winner Shuler Hensley as Leon Czolgosz, Ethan Lipton as the Proprietor, Erin Markey as Lynette 鈥淪queaky鈥� Fromme, Cory Michael Smith as Lee Harvey Oswald, Tony winner Julie White as Sara Jane Moore, and Danny Wolohan as Samuel Byck.

Anne Kauffman will direct the production, which will feature music direction by Chris Fenwick and choreography by Lorin Latarro.

The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin, starring Tony winner Nikki M. James (currently appearing in the Public Theater's Julius Caesar), will follow. The Robert O鈥橦ara-helmed production of Kirsten Childs鈥� musical will include choreography by Byron Easley and music direction by Annastasia Victory. Performances will run July 26 and 27.

Lastly, Carole King and Maurice Sendak鈥檚 Really Rosie will star Taylor Caldwell, who appeared in last year鈥檚 Off-Center presentation of Runaways. Leigh Silverman will direct; Ayodele Casel will choreograph. Carmel Dean serves as music director. The production will play August 2鈥�5.

Additional casting for the three Off-Center titles鈥攁s well as for Brigadoon鈥攚ill be announced later.
