More casting has been revealed for the upcoming West End revival of Sophocles' Elektra. As previously announced, Academy Award winner Brie Larson will lead the company in the title role, with Daniel Fish (Oklahoma!) at the helm.

The production, set to begin previews for an 11-week limited engagement January 24, 2025, at the Duke of York's Theatre ahead of a February 5 opening night, will use a translation by Anne Carson. A pre-West End run will be held at Theatre Royal Brighton January 13-18, 2025.

Newly announced to be joining Larson are Stockard Channing (The West Wing), Mari猫me Diouf (Romeo and Juliet), Greg Hicks (The Grapes of Wrath), and Patrick Vaill (Stranger ThingsOklahoma!). Additional casting, by Heather Basten, is to be announced.

The West End run will continue through April 12, 2025.

Elektra follows its titular character in the days following her father's assassination and the return of her long-lost brother, Orestes, both looking to avenge the murder. This revival, the West End's first in more than a decade, will be the U.K. premiere of Carson's translation, originally penned in 2001.

鈥淲hat is ancient and what is contemporary?," posed Fish in an earlier statement. "Carson鈥檚 translation explodes this question. It is a thrilling challenge to work on Sophocles鈥 tragedy, by way of Carson鈥檚 words, and on the beautiful stage of The Duke of York鈥檚 with Brie Larson."

The production will feature choreography by Annie-B Parson, scenic design by Jeremy Herbert, costume design by Doey L眉thi, lighting design by Adam Silverman, sound design by Max and Ben Ringham, and music by Ted Hearne. Kate Godfrey will serve as voice and dialect coach. Empire Street Productions is producing.

Tickets for the West End run are available at , and for the try-out run at Theatre Royal Brighton at .
