Hey, big spender! The Donmar Warehouse revival of Sweet Charity, currently in previews, has released its production photos. Starring Anne-Marie Duff (Shameless) and Arthur Darvill (), the production, helmed by director Josie Rourke as her final production as Donmar's artistic director, officially opens April 17.
Also in the company are Lizzy Connolly (The Twilight Zone) as Nickie, Stephen Kennedy (Donmar鈥檚 The Vote) as Herman, Debbie Kurup (Girl From the North Country) as Helene, Martin Marquez (Donmar鈥檚 Fool for Love and Front Page) as Vittorio Vidal, Amy Ellen Richardson () as Ursula March, and Daniel Steers (Bat Out of Hell) as Carmen.
Originally directed and choreographed by (who also helmed the film adaptation), boasts a beloved Cy Coleman-Dorothy Fields score and a book by , adapting the Fellini film Nights of Cabiria. The original production starred Fosse's wife and collaborator , earning her a Tony Award nomination. The show was nominated for a total of nine, winning Best Choreography for Fosse.
For the Donmar production, Friday performances between April 19 and May 31 will be feature Sweet Friday free tickets to those 25 and under, allocated by ballot. Schools from every London borough are invited to participate. Sweet Fridays are made possible with the support of Susie Sainsbury and the Backstage Trust.
