Roundabout Theatre Company has announced a new Broadway production of Arthur Miller鈥檚 The Price, directed by Steppenwolf co-founder Terry Kinney.
The production is set to begin previews February 16, 2017, and officially open March 16 at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway. The limited engagement is scheduled to play through May 7.
The Price was last seen on Broadway in 1999 directed by James Naughton. The story follows the reunion of two estranged brothers who are brought together by their father鈥檚 death and the settling of his affairs.
鈥淲hen the Great Depression cost his family their fortune, Victor Franz gave up his dream of an education to support his father,鈥� state RTC production notes. 鈥淭hree decades later, Victor has returned to his childhood home to sell the remainder of his parents鈥� estate. His wife, his estranged brother, and the wily furniture dealer hired to appraise their possessions all arrive with their own agendas, forcing Victor to confront a question, long鈥恠tifled, about the value of his sacrifice.鈥�
