From countertenor to double bass, the classic arts scene in New York is neve quiet. Here is just a sampling of some of the classic arts events happening this week:

The BAAND Together Dance Festival runs July 25-29 at Lincoln Center鈥檚 Damrosch Park. The week-long festival, now in its third year, brings together five of New York鈥檚 most iconic dance companies: Ballet Hisp谩nico, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, American Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet, and Dance Theatre of Harlem. The performances, part of Lincoln Center鈥檚 Summer for the City, are free. Each of these dance companies will also hold free dance workshops throughout the week.

The Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra also returns to Lincoln Center this week, with Louis Langr茅e conducting Mozart鈥檚 Mass in C minor at David Geffen Hall July 25 and 26. Soprano Erin Morley, mezzo-soprano Kate Lindsey, tenor Nicholas Phan, and bass Jonathon Adams will be the soloists. The program will also include the world premiere of Amir ElSaffar鈥檚 Dhikra, with vocalist Hamid Al-Saadi, and the composer on trumpet.

July 28 and 29, Thomas Wilkins will conduct the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra in a program including the overture to Cimarosa鈥檚 Il matrimonio segreto, an excerpt from Fela Sowande鈥檚 African Suite, and Adolphus Hailstork鈥檚 Symphony No. 1. Bassist Xavier Foley will also join the orchestra, performing his own For Justice and Peace and Giovanni Bottesini鈥檚 Double Bass Concerto No. 2 in B minor.

Dorrance Dance makes its SummerStage Central Park debut July 26, in a program led by Michelle Dorrance with original music by vocalist Aaron Marcellus.

July 27, New Victory Dance returns to the New Victory Theatre for its 10th season. The program for young audiences will feature performances from three dance companies, encompassing a range of styles. The performance will include Luke Hickey鈥檚 A Little Old, A Little New, Monica Bill Barnes and Company鈥檚 The Running Show, and Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company鈥檚 鈥淔estival鈥� from Red Firecrackers.

The Metropolitan Opera鈥檚 Live in HD Summer Encores broadcasts kick off this week, with Phillip Glass鈥檚 Akhnaten returning to cinemas July 26. The broadcast of the 2019 production, directed by Phelim McDermott, stars countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo as the famed Pharaoh.

Cellist Jeffrey Solow returns to Bargemusic July 28 to complete the cycle of Bach Cello Suites, started earlier this month. July 29, Bargemusic will present violist Yuri Gandelsman and pianist Zanna Gandelsman in a concert including works by Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Glinka, and more. July 30, ArtsAhimsa Piano Trio will take the floating stage, performing works by Dvorak and Gabriela Lena Frank.
