The Public Theater will now require proof of complete COVID-19 vaccination and booster, effective January 21. The new measures are to protect its performers, personnel, and audiences against the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Last month, the Off-Broadway company it would expand its policy requiring proof of vaccination to include a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of a show through January 30. The requirement has now expired since there are no planned performances before the new date.
The Under the Radar festival, featuring a number of emerging talents and new works, was scheduled to begin January 12 but due to the rise of Omicron. Programming at The Public will continue with a variety of cabaret and concert shows at Joe鈥檚 Pub, plus the February stagings of The Chinese Lady and Out of Time.
