The Reviews Are In for A Streetcar Named Desire at BAM, Starring Paul Mescal

The Paul Mescal-led revival of Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire, a transfer from London's West End, opened at Off-Broadway's Brooklyn Academy of Music March 11, and the reviews are rolling in. The production performs through April 6 at the company's Harvey Theater. Rebecca Frecknall (Cabaret) is at the helm. See what critics are saying below.

Normal People star Mescal is reprising his Olivier-winning performance as Stanley Kowalski alongside Anjana Vasan's Olivier-winning Stella. Also reprising their performances from the 2022 Almeida Theatre run are Patsy Ferren as Blanche Du Bois and Dwane Walcott as Harold 'Mitch' Mitchell.

The cast also includes Eduardo Ackerman as Pablo Gonzales, Janet Etuk as Eunice Hubbel, Alexander Eliot as Steve Hubbel, Gabriela Garcia as Flower Seller-Nurse-Singer, Tom Penn as Doctor-Drummer, and Jabez Sykes as Young Collector. Understudies Rob Dempsey, Francesca Knight, Curtis Patrick, and Constanza Ruff round out the company.
