News "The Rose" Singer Amanda McBroom To Showcase Unheard Songs at 54 Below Singer, songwriter and cabaret performer Amanda McBroom will return to 54 Below this fall over two nights with her new solo show, Up Close and Personal. McBroom is a Golden Globe winner for Best Original Song for "The Rose," the Oscar-winning 1979 film starring Bette Midler.

McBroom will hit the stage at 54 Below on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 in a show that will feature previously unheard songs from her personal songwriter鈥檚 trunk, plus music by some of her favorite writers including Leonard Cohen, , Fran Landesman, , Jacques Brel and more. Music direction is by Michele Brourman. McBroom's song "Errol Flynn," which she wrote about her father, was recently featured on NPR鈥檚 "Songs We Love," as well as other music the current season of "True Detective".

McBroom鈥檚 songs have been recorded by Leanne Rimes, , Judy Collins, , Anne Murray, , , and The Manhattan Transfer, among others.
