The awards will be given at Broadway's Lyric Theatre, where the John Rando-directed and Tony-nominated revival of On the Town is currently playing.
On the Town made its Broadway debut at the Adelphi Theater featuring music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics and book by Comden and Adolph Green. Comden, whose performance as Claire de Loone won in the first-ever Theatre World Awards, went on to become well known for such Broadway classics as Wonderful Town, Bells Are Ringing, Singin' in the Rain and On the Twentieth Century.
Each year the Theatre World Awards recognize six men and six women who made outstanding Broadway or Off-Broadway debuts during the previous season. As previously reported, On the Town's is named among the winners, while 's will receive the 2015 Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre.

The 7th Annual Award for Excellence, honoring an Outstanding Performance in a Broadway or Off-Broadway production, will be presented by Dame to for her performance as Lise in An American in Paris.
First presented in 1945, the Theatre World Awards, founded by the late Daniel Blum, who originated the series with publisher Jae Greenberg, are the oldest awards given for Outstanding Broadway and Off-Broadway debut performances.
The Theatre World Award winners were chosen by the Theatre World Awards Committee that includes Roma Torre (NY1), David Cote (Time Out New York and NY1), Joe Dziemianowicz (New York Daily News), Peter Filichia (The Newark Star-Ledger, Emeritus), Harry Haun (°ëµºÌåÓý), Matthew Murray (Talkinâ€� Broadway) and Frank Scheck (New York Post).
