Our drive from Seattle to Yakima, WA was stunning. Beautiful mountains everywhere you look! My phone was glued to the window snapping photos the whole drive.

With book by and Bramble, music by and lyrics by , 42nd Street is based on a novel by Bradford Ropes and 鈥檚 1933 movie and tells the story of a "starry-eyed young dancer named Peggy Sawyer who leaves her Allentown home and comes to New York to audition for the new Broadway musical Pretty Lady. When the leading lady breaks her ankle, Peggy takes over and becomes a star," according to press notes.
The original stage adaptation of 42nd Street was produced on Broadway in 1980 by and featured direction and dances by . It played for 3,486 performances, winning Tony Awards for Best Musical and Best Choreography. The Broadway revival, which opened in 2001, played 1,524 performances and earned two Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical.
The production also has scenic design by听Tony Award听winner听听(Act One,听The Scottsboro Boys, Annie), costume design by听Tony Award听winner听听(The King and I, 42nd听Street, ), lighting design by Tony Award听winner听 (, Annie, White Christmas) and sound design by听Peter Fitzgerald听(Movin鈥� Out, Follies, 42nd听Street).听听Musical supervision is by听Todd Ellison听(American in Paris, La Cage Aux Folles, 42nd听Street).
The piece stars Obie Award winner Jodie Markell as propagandist filmmaker Leni Riefenstahl, whose work in service of the Nazis defined the visual identity of Adolf Hitler's Third Reich.
