International News Tim Rice and Stuart Brayson鈥檚 From Here to Eternity Musical Will Be Revived in London

Brett Smock will direct the new production at the Charing Cross Theatre.

From Here To Eternity

Tim Rice and Stuart Brayson鈥檚 musical version of From Here to Eternity, based on the James Jones novel, will get its first London revival in the fall at Charing Cross Theatre.

Directed by Brett Smock, performances are scheduled for October 29鈥揇ecember 17 with an official opening November 8. Casting will be announced at a later date.

Set in the two weeks leading up to the attack on Pearl Harbor, From Here to Eternity features lyrics by Rice, music by Brayson, and a book by Donald Rice and Bill Oakes.

Director Smock says, 鈥淎fter extensive development work on From Here to Eternity in the U.S. at The REV Theatre Company in New York and The Ogunquit Playhouse in Maine, we are thrilled to join forces with U.K. producer Katy Lipson/Aria Entertainment to present a powerful new production designed specifically for the intimacy of Charing Cross Theatre. Framed by a world on the brink of war, at a time when we are losing the last of the 鈥楪reatest Generation,鈥 and with the 80th anniversary of Pearl Harbor just last year, it feels timely to revisit this fascinating series of events.鈥

The production will also have musical direction and orchestrations by Nick Barstow, set and costume design by Stewart Charlesworth, sound design by Andrew Johnson, choreography by Cressida Carr茅, production coordination by Ollie Hancock, and casting by Jane Deitch.

From Here to Eternity is produced by Katy Lipson for Aria Entertainment, Bill Kenwright, and Heartaches Limited. General management is by Chris Matanl茅.
