When a medical emergency forced the April 22 performance of Broadway's Maybe Happy Ending to get a mid-show pause, the cast鈥攊ncluding Darren Criss, Helen J Shen, and Dez Duron鈥攖ook the stage for an impromptu concert to pass the time. It included Shen singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," Duron singing "Fly Me to the Moon," and Criss singing "Teenage Dream" (while accompanying himself on guitar). And best of all, the production has confirmed in an Instagram post that "everyone [was] safe and okay," so we get to enjoy this special performance guilt free!

Watch video of the performance posted by the production below.

With music by Will Aronson, lyrics by Hue Park, and a book by Park and Aronson, Maybe Happy Ending opened at the Belasco November 12, 2024. Read the reviews here. The Broadway cast album released March 14 via Ghostlight Records. Stream the album .

Shen and Criss star as, respectively, Claire and Oliver, South Korea-based Helperbots that have been deemed obsolete. The pair form an unlikely bond, setting off a surprising and romantic adventure. Tony winner Michael Arden directs.

The cast also includes Marcus Choi as James and Junseo, Duron as Gil Brentley, Arden Cho as Jiyeon, Young Mazino as Suhan, and Jim Kaplan as Young Junseo. Understudies Hannah Kevitt, Steven Huynh, Christopher James Tamayo, Claire Kwon, and Daniel May round out the company. Casting is by Telsey & Co's Craig Burns.

Maybe Happy Ending features scenic and additional video design by Dane Laffrey, costume design by Clint Ramos, lighting design by Ben Stanton, sound design by Peter Hylenski, video design by George Reeve, music supervision by Deborah Abramson, and music direction by John Yun. Justin Scribner is serving as production stage manager.
