Real Women Have Curves officially opens on Broadway April 27, and 半岛体育 has a look at the artistry on display in the production.

The new musical, which began its Broadway run at the James Earl Jones Theatre April 1, stars newcomer Tatianna C贸rdoba as ambitious high school senior Ana Garcia. The musical is adapted from Josefina L贸pez's 1993 play, which also had a 2002 film version.

With a score by Joy Huerta and Benjamin Velez and a book by Lisa Loomer with Nell Benjamin, the work follows a first-generation child of Mexican immigrants torn between joining the family garment business or embarking on her own dream of attending college in NYC.

The project is being helmed by Sergio Trujillo, who's directing and choreographing. Justina Machado (One Day at a Time) plays Carmen Garcia, Ana鈥檚 hardworking mother who imagines a traditional life for her daughter. C贸rdoba and Machado are supported by Florencia Cuenca as Estela, Shelby Acosta (1776) as Prima Flaca, Carla Jimenez as Pancha, Aline Mayagoitia (SIX) as Itzel, Mason Reeves (Frozen) as Henry, Jennifer S谩nchez (Elf) as Rosal铆, Sandra Valls as Prima Fulvia, and Mauricio Mendoza as Ra煤l Garcia. Cuenca, Jimenez, Mayagoitia, Reeves, and Valls are all making their Broadway debuts in the production, and all but Mayagoitia are reprising their performances from the musical's 2024 world premiere.

The company also includes Ariana Burks, Quincy Hampton, Zeus Mendoza, Claudia Mulet, Christopher M. Ramirez, Monica Tulia Ramirez, Shadia Fairuz, Elisa Galindez, and Omar Madden.
