While the Kennedy Center's Broadway Center Stage presentation of Chess played only a five-day limited engagement in February, the video above offers a retroactive glimpse at the stars in action.
The reel includes clips of such highlights from Benny Andersson, Bj枚rn Ulvaeus, and Tim Rice's score as "Anthem," "One Night in Bangkok," "Nobody's Side," and "Someone Else's Story."
The D.C. concert staging, directed by Michael Mayer, starred Tony Award nominees (Anastasia, Les Mis茅rables) as Russian chess star Anatoly Sergievski and Ra煤l Esparza (Company, Leap of Faith) as American chess champion Freddie Trumper, with Tony winners () as Svetlana Sergievsky and () as Florence Vassey.
The cast also featured () as Ivan Molokov, Sean Allan Krill () as Walter Anderson, and Tony nominee (A Gentleman鈥檚 Guide to Love and Murder) as the Arbiter.
Chess was the inaugural presentation in the Kennedy Center's Broadway Center Stage series, which is overseen by Broadway producer Jeffrey Finn.
