The Encores! Off-Center production of Promenade is gearing up for its debut at New York City Center.
Rehearsal footage of James T. Lane, Kent Overshow, and Bryonha Marie Parham singing 鈥淭he Cigarette Song鈥� was released ahead of its two-day run July 10-11.
In the absurdist comedy, with a book Mar铆a Irene Forn茅s and music from Al Carmines, two escaped convicts known only as 105 and 106 (played by Lane and Overshown, respectively) find themselves in The City surrounded by a variety of characters from the gutters to high society.
Parham appears as Servant. Also cast in the cast are Mark Bedard as Jailer, Becca Blackwell as Mayor, Eddie Cooper as Mr. R, Daniel Everidge as Mr. T, Carmen Ruby Floyd as Miss I, Marcy Harriell as Miss U, Bonnie Milligan as Miss Cake, Don Darryl Rivera as Soldier/Driver, Soara-Joye Ross as Miss O, Steve Routman as Soldier/Injured Man, Saundra Santiago as Mother, and J.D. Webster as Mr. S.
Promenade is directed by Laurie Woolery, with music direction by Greg Jarrett and choreography by Hope Boykin.
