T’Shan Williams shows off her moving vocals in “I’m Here,� Celie’s stirring solo from The Color Purple, in the video above. The U.K. stage veteran will take on the role in the upcoming co-production from Leicester's Curve and the Birmingham Hippodrome.
The show is scheduled to play Curve Theatre in Leicester June 28 through July 13 before heading to Birmingham July 16�20.
Williams has previously appeared in Heathers in the West End and Caroline, or Change at Hampstead Theatre, and The Life at Southwark Playhouse.
The Tinuke Craig-directed presentation will also feature Joanna Francis as Shug Avery, Ako Mitchell as Mister, Simon-Anthony Rhoden as Harpo, Karen Mavundukure as Sofia, Danielle Fiamanya as Nettie, and Delroy Brown as Pa.
