Netflix's new movie musical Emilia Pérez is now streaming. Get a first look at the film with Zoe Saldaña's performance of "El Mal" in the video above. The crime-themed movie joined the streamer's catalogue November 13.
Along with Saldaña as Rita Mora Castro, the film includes performances from Karla SofÃa Gascón in the title role, Selena Gomez as Jessi Del Monte, Adriana Paz as EpifanÃa Flores, Édgar RamÃrez as Gustavo Brun, and Mark Ivanir as Dr. Wasserman.
The project, written and directed by Jacques Audiard and featuring songs by Camille, is based on Audiard's opera libretto of the same name, which is itself adapted from the 2018 Boris Razon novel ɳ¦´Ç³Ü³Ù±ð. The story follows an infamous cartel leader who aims to live another life as a woman.
The film premiered in May at Cannes, and won a Jury Prize at the Palme d'Or.
