The Cher Show, the new Broadway-bound musical about the life and career of the multi-hyphenate artist known for her hit albums and award-winning film roles, officially opened in Chicago June 28 at the Oriental Theatre where performances continue through July 15.
Directed by Jason Moore (Avenue Q, Pitch Perfect), The Cher Show features a book by Jersey Boys Tony Award winner Rick Elice and costumes by designer Bob Mackie, who has collaborated with Cher over the years on myriad iconic looks, dating back to her 1967 appearance on The Carol Burnett Show. Cher has been involved in the show's development.
The Cher Show will arrive on Broadway November 1 at the Neil Simon Theatre prior to a December 3 opening night.

Bringing the music icon to the stage are three women who play Cher at various stages of her life: Tony nominee , (Wicked, Finding Neverland), and Micaela Diamond (NBC鈥檚 recent live ).
The cast also includes Tony Award nominee Jarrod Spector (Beautiful, Jersey Boys) as Sonny Bono, Tony Award nominee Michael Berresse (Kiss Me, Kate; A Chorus Line) as Bob Mackie, Michael Campayno (Wicked) as Rob Camilletti, Matthew Hydzik (West Side Story, Side Show) as Gregg Allman, Tony Award nominee Emily Skinner (Prince of Broadway, Side Show) as Georgia Holt, and Dee Roscioli (Wicked, Fiddler on the Roof) as the Standby for Star and Lady.
Rounding out the ensemble are Marija Abney, Carleigh Bettiol, Taurean Everett, Michael Fatica, Ashley Blair Fitzgerald, Michael Graceffa, Blaine Alden Krauss, Sam Lips, Tiana Okoye, Amy Quanbeck, Angel Reda, Jennifer Rias, Michael Tacconi, Tory Trowbridge, Christopher Vo, Alena Watters, Charlie Williams, and Ryan Worsing.
The musical has choreography by Tony Award winner Christopher Gattelli (Newsies), and orchestrations, arrangements, and musical supervision by Tony Award winner Daryl Waters (Memphis).
The production also has scenic design by () and Brett Banakis (), lighting design by Tony winner (Hedwig and the Angry Inch), sound design by (Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen), and video and projection design by Darrel Maloney. Casting is by Telsey + Company/Patrick Goodwin, CSA.
