The film adaptation of the Broadway show released the track list for the upcoming soundtrack, to be released January 12.

The new Mean Girls movie musical hits cinemas January 12, 2024, which is the same day the 13-track soundtrack from Paramount Pictures and Interscope Records drops. Interscope released the official track list  January 3鈥攆ind out which of the numbers from the 2018 Broadway musical made the cut below.

The  of Mean Girls, on which the film is partially based, featured 21 tracks. The songs that did not make the movie adaptation are "It Roars," "Where Do You Belong?," "Fearless," "Stop," "What鈥檚 Wrong With Me? (Reprise)," "Whose House Is This?," "More Is Better," "Someone Gets Hurt (Reprise)," and "Do This Thing." "What Ifs" and "Not My Fault" are new tracks written for the movie.

The new Mean Girls film will feature a host of stage and screen favorites in the cast, including Rene茅 Rapp, reprising her stage performance as queen bee Regina George; Mean Girls original cast member as Madame Park; Broadway alum and Tony nominee (A Strange Loop) as Damian; Auli'i Cravalho (Moana, Little Mermaid Live) as Janis; Angourie Rice (Spider-Man: Homecoming) as Cady Heron; Avantika (Senior Year) as the ditzy Karen; Bebe Wood (Love, Victor) as toaster strudel heiress Gretchen; Christopher Briney (The Summer I Turned Pretty) as Regina's boyfriend Aaron Samuels; Girls5Eva star Busy Phillips as Mrs. George; The Office's Jenna Fischer as Ms. Heron; Mean Girls stage and screen writer as Ms. Norbury; SNL alum Tim Meadows as Mr. Duvall; Mad Men star Jon Hamm as Coach Carr; Mahi Alam (American Born Chinese) as Kevin Ganatra; and Connor Ratliff (Search Party) as a new teacher character, Mr. Rapp.

The movie filmed in New Jersey earlier this year.

Fey penned the new film's screenplay after writing the 2004 original and the stage musical's book. The score features music by and lyrics by (Legally Blonde). Samantha Jayne and Arturo Perez, Jr. co-direct the project, with choreography by Kyle Hanagami.
