
Performances are scheduled for June 12-21 at Music Hall on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. , most recently seen on Broadway as Elphaba in , will star in the title role. Additional casting will be announced at a later time.
The production will be directed by Stephen Amato with choreography by Joe Barros. Andrew Abrams, artistic director of the new company, will also serve as musical director.

Violet, written by and , made its Broadway debut last season starring Tony winner . The musical, an adaptation of Doris Betts' 鈥淭he Ugliest Pilgrim,鈥� is described as "the story of a young woman鈥檚 quest for beauty amidst the image-obsessed landscape of the 1960s. Facially disfigured in a childhood accident, Violet dreams of a miraculous transformation through the power of faith. Convinced that a televangelist in Oklahoma can heal her, she hops a Greyhound bus and starts the journey of a lifetime."
