Director Tom O鈥橦organ鈥檚 1974 film adaptation of Eugene Ionesco鈥檚 Rhinoceros, starring Zero Mostel, Gene Wilder, and Karen Black, will be screened at the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria November 4 at 6:30 PM.
Mostel won a Tony Award in 1961 for starring in Orson Welles鈥 adaptation of Ionesco鈥檚 play. The film marks the first and only time Mostel and Wilder appeared together following the Mel Brooks鈥 comedy The Producers in 1967.
The screening will be followed by a conversation between Ester Fuchs and playwright Theresa Rebeck about how the political theories explored in the story still resonate today.
