DESCRIPTION

Barrington Stage Company (BSC) seeks a Company Manager (CM) to join the team. The CM oversees the working and living experience of the entire BSC Company including actors, directors, designers and production staff for all events and performances in the 2025 BSC Season.

Successful candidates will be self-starters with a knack for engaging with all types of people and are able to think creatively on the fly. They will have exemplary preparation and organization skills and be able to coordinate multiple moving parts under pressure.

The Company Manager is a full-time, exempt, seasonal position. Nights and weekends throughout the summer season are required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervision of the Company Management Team- including the Associate Company Manager and the Theatre Administrators which will be scheduled part time in the CM department.
  • Writing and negotiating leases with landlords in the Greater Pittsfield Area, including maintaining the interpersonal relationships with the landlords through the season.
  • Assigning and maintenance of staff and guest artist housing.
  • Schedule creation and management including:
    • Emergency and Lockout On-Call Schedule
    • Performance/Rehearsal Check-In
    • CM Team Day Off Schedule
    • Housing Turnover & Cleaning Schedule
    • Housing Inspection Schedule
    • Company Car Schedule for Local Transportation
  • Coordinating Transportation for all contracted artists
  • Reserve and coordinate pick up/drop off of rental cars
  • Financial organization and budget tracking for the Company Management department, including overseeing reimbursements for company members for travel, etc.
  • Oversee the distribution of welcome materials for all guest artists
  • Assist general management as needed with contracts and union paperwork, oncluding partnership with the finance department on Union Dues Reports.
  • Oversee and coordinate meals and/or catering during tech for staff members
  • Deliver mail and payroll to visiting artists in our theatre buildings
  • Accompany staff and artists to medical facilities after work related injuries.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a valid US driver鈥檚 license, with a clean driving record and at least 3 years of driving experience.
    • Ability to drive a cargo van and/or a 12-15 seat passenger van.
  • Previous theater management experience is a plus, including an understanding of the Actor鈥檚 Equity Rulebook.
  • Collaborative energy, 鈥渃an do鈥� attitude and positive, empathetic spirit.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and attention to detail
  • Self-motivation to stay organized in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Google Drive (Sheets, Docs, Forms, Gmail, Google Calendar).
  • Ability to lift, carry, and pull up to 30 lbs.
  • Comfortable in an environment that can involve up to several hours a day on your feet.

START DATE & PAY RATE:

  • $950 per week, Overtime exempt, housing included.
  • Start Date: April 1, 2025
  • End Date: October 31, 2025
