BREAKDOWN
IMMEDIATE FAMILY
SEEKING:
[EVY] Female-Presenting, 40s, Black. The eldest daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Jesse Bryant, Evy has become the family matriarch holding things together with sheer will. Opinionated and unwavering, she doesn't seek approval and won't back down. Beneath her tough exterior is a quiet ache, but she stands tall in a world that want her to shrink.
[TONY] Male-Presenting, mid 20s, Black. The baby of the Bryant family - charming, energetic, and a bit immature, but fiercely loyal. With the confidence of a golden retriever, his family underestimates him, mistaking his openness for naivety. But beneath the easygoing exterior, he's sharp when needed. He's no stereotype - soft when he wants, but strong when it counts, and impossible not to love.
[NINA] Female-Presenting, late 30s, Black. Jesse's best friend and the Bryant family's "play sister" with wild humor and bold style. She moves through the world with confidence but beneath the glam, she's caring for her mother and carrying hidden burdens. The funniest friend often hides the most pain - that's Nina. Her fire matches a deep internal strength, and she never holds back.
[JESSE] Male-Presenting, 40, Black. The restless middle child, always searching and never fully settled. Gay but closeted, he carries the weight of his secret. His anchor is Nina - his best friend and confidante, the one who truly sees him. Still figuring it out, he's torn between who he is and who he wanted to be.
[RONNIE] Female-Presenting, early 40s, Biracial (Black Father and White Mother). The eldest Bryant sibling, born from an affair and raised in Brussels. A gifted painter, she's loving and put-together, but beneath her warmth is a quiet wound - never fully belonging. A wounded bird armed with liquor and resilience. Her life in Europe is rich with art, but she's always lacked a true family.
[KRISTIAN] Male-Presenting, late 30s, White. Jesse's Swedish partner, deeply settled in America. A kind, open-hearted photographer - warm, grounded, and effortlessly genuine. Not a supermodel, but naturally attractive in an outdoorsy, down-to-earth way. Steady and calm, he balances the chaos around him.
