Mike & Mindy's Wild Weekend Jam is an original musical which will be opening on the main stage at Players Theatre on June 19th and will run until July 20th.

Rehearsal Schedule:
Sunday, May 4th & Monday, May 5th 10:00 am - 4:00 pm & May 29th thru June 14th
Tech: June 15th thru June 18th
Previews: Thursday, June 19th/20th
Opening Night: June 21st
Show runs June 21st thru July 20th -Thursday 7pm, Friday 7pm, Saturday 2pm & 7 pm, Sunday 3pm. No performances over 4th of July weekend.

BREAKDOWN

PAT - Male - 50's and up. Pat, Mike's dat, is a vaudeville-style tap-dancer who likes to quote celebrities, and is all about the latest "rap and tap" music scene with his wife Claire. Quirky yet endearing, he is a loving husband and father who brings a fun and playful presence to the family. Must be able to sing/harmonize and have some experience with tap.

MR. C - Male - 40's and up. Any ethnicity. Mr. C is an over-the-top narcissist, flamboyant fashionista, and dramatic theater teacher who lights up every room he enters. As a close friend to Mike, Mindy, and their family, he’s fun-loving, high-maintenance, and always stirring up some kind of drama. Despite his flair for the dramatic, Mr. C has a heart of gold, genuinely loves Mike and Mindy, and proudly serves as their biggest fan and unwavering supporter.

Ensemble Singer - Female - Late teens to late 20's. Any ethnicity. This is an ensemble role who will be part of several scenes. Looking for a seasoned singer who can handle harmonies and dance well. Mandatory rehearsals dates are May 4th and 5th, May 29th and 30th and tech week.

SHOW SYNOPSIS - Together since high school - Circa 1982, Mike & Mindy found love and shared a dream of becoming huge singing sensatios. But with big dreams come big responsibilities. Therefore, to keep their dreams from being "flushed down the drain forever," a plumber and hairdresser they became.
Flash forward 10 years...Mike & Mindy continue working their day jobs while tirelessly booking gigs and auditions. They even hold "Wild Weekend Jams" at their teeny tiny Brooklyn apartment for their wacky friends and family to sing, dance, and...'almost always have a good time'. However, no family gathering is complete without its share of family conflict and drama. The news that a hot-shot music producer might attend one of the jams certainly ignites hope that this could be Mike & Mindy's big break. Everyone is excited - everyone except for Don, Mindy's old-school Italian father. After a heated argument between Mike and Don, Mike storms out. With Mindy left feeling sad and frustrated, the family tries to salvage what's left of the night. Amid the tension, a surprise vistior who may hold the key to their dreams actually shows up. With time being of the essence, Will Mindy find Mike, will Don and Mike resolve their issues, will this mystery guest be the answer to their prayers? Stay tune!
