Mabou Mines and Weathervane Productions, in association with Philip Glassâ€� The Days and Nights Festival, present a unique celebration of legendary playwright and director MarÃa Irene Fornés, featuring the New York premiere of Philip Glassâ€� transformation of her five-page play Drowning into an opera and a version of Fornésâ€� acclaimed Mud.
SYNOPSIS:
Mud, a parable of survival and enlightenment, is the story of a young woman's struggle for self-improvement amidst a confused sexual triangle. Drowning is a poetically tender and heartfelt look at desire and its effect on the soul.
