The Ambassador opened in 1921 at 215 W. 49th Street, financed by the Shuberts. Designed by Herbert J. Krapp, the theatre鈥檚 auditorium is unique in its diagonal orientation, designed to optimize limited square footage. Since 2003, the Ambassador has housed the 1996 revival of Chicago and its bevy of stars.
