Jolson鈥檚 59th Street Theatre opened in 1921 at 932 Seventh Avenue. Two years later, Constantin Stanislavsky鈥檚 Moscow Art Theatre visited Jolson鈥檚 with productions including The Cherry Orchard, Three Sisters, and The Brothers Karamazov. Jolson鈥檚 59th Street Theatre was demolished, as the New Century, in 1962.
Is anyone a match for the brash and strong-willed Katherine? The dashing adventurer Petruchio thinks he鈥檚 up to the challenge. Two of the sexiest figures in all of world theatre set off sparks in a clash of wills that is as bold as it is uproarious. Shakespeare鈥檚 masterful comedic take on the battle of the sexes turns everything we think about love, marriage, and gender on its head.
