News A Little More Brandy, Please! Norwood Extends Run in Broadway's Chicago Grammy winner Brandy Norwood has extended her engagement in the Tony Award-winning, record-breaking hit musical Chicago at the Ambassador Theatre.

Norwood, who starred opposite the late Whitney Houston in the most recent TV version of "Cinderella," is currently making her Broadway debut in the role of Roxie Hart. Originally scheduled for an eight-week limited engagement through June 21, the singing actress will now continue through Aug. 2. (Note: Norwood will not perform June 22-23 and June 27-28.)

A Grammy-winning singer, songwriter and actress, Norwood has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide, including such hits as 鈥淚 Wanna Be Down鈥� and 鈥淭he Boy Is Mine.鈥� As an actress, Norwood starred in her own sitcom, 鈥淢oesha,鈥� and recently received a 2014 NAACP Image Award for her role as Chardonnay on BET鈥檚 鈥淭he Game.鈥�

The revival of and 's Chicago began life as one of the three annual Encores! presentations offered by City Center. The musical opened on Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in November 1996 where it remained through February 1997. The musical transferred to the Shubert Theatre on Feb. 11, 1997, and played that house through Jan. 26, 2003. The revival reopened at the Ambassador Theatre, its current home, on Jan. 29, 2003. Chicago won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical in 1997 as well as awards for original cast members and , director , lighting designer Billington and choreographer . The original 1975 production was directed and choreographed by the late .
