The seventh West Coast charity strip-a-thon benefiting Broadway Cares will be themed as FilmStrips.

Broadway Bares San Francisco is back for its seventh annual entry, with a date set for June 16 at 1015 Folsom. The 2024 iteration of the charity strip-a-thon will be inspired by the silver screen, titled FilmStrips. The event is produced by and benefits the Richmond/Ermet Aid Foundation along with Broadway Cares.

Back to direct and co-produce this year's event is Broadway Bares San Francisco founder Deb Leamy. Choreographer Damien Beard is co-producing, with the Bob Ross Foundation sponsoring.

Attendees can expect sexy dance numbers and burlesque acts along with increasingly skimpy costumes.

Last year's event, titled ChampionStrips, raised more than $87,000, with the lifetime total for Broadway Bares San Francisco now exceeding $330,000.

The West Coast event is an off-shoot of NYC's Broadway Bares, created in 1992 by Jerry Mitchell as a way to raise awareness and money for those living with HIV/AIDS. Mitchell and six of his friends danced atop a New York City bar and raised $8,000 in Broadway Bares鈥 first iteration. Last year鈥檚 NYC edition raised $1.9 million, bringing Broadway Bares鈥 total to more than $23 million for Broadway Cares.
