The stage musical adaptation of , the 1994 Australian film comedy that starred Toni Collette, will receive its North American premiere April 3鈥揗ay 3, 2018, as part of the Mirvish Season in Toronto.
Prior to Toronto, Muriel鈥檚 Wedding will have its world premiere November 6-December 30, 2017, at Sydney Theatre Company. The film鈥檚 original screenwriter and director, PJ Hogan, will write the musical鈥檚 book, which is receiving a contemporary update for its stage debut. The musical will feature a score comprising ABBA pop hits alongside original songs by Kate Miller-Heidke and Keir Nuttall.
The Mirvish season will also include the stage adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock鈥檚 North By Northwest (September 19鈥揙ctober 29, 2017), The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time (October 10-November 19); the North American premiere of Dr. Seuss鈥� The Lorax (December 10, 2017鈥揓anuary 21, 2018); as well as the Broadway national tours of An American in Paris (March 27鈥揂pril 29) and The King and I (July 10鈥揂ugust 12).
, the new musical Come From Away will return to Toronto for a sit-down run in February 2018.
The Off-Mirvish season includes Factory Theatre鈥檚 Salt-Water Moon (October 12鈥�29, 2017); Mike Bartlett鈥檚 King Charles III (February 10-March 4, 2018); and of the Tony-winning musical Fun Home (April 13-May 6).
