Anastasia, the Ahrens and Flaherty musical that opened on Broadway in April 2017, will launch three major productions this fall, playing to audiences across the country and the globe.
To commemorate the three new productions that join the Broadway original, Anastasia鈥檚 producers gathered together all four stars for a multilingual music video featuring a new arrangement of 鈥淚n My Dreams鈥/鈥滼ourney to the Past,鈥 performed in English, Spanish, and German.
Counterpart to the Broadway production is the U.S. national tour, which kicks off October 9 in Schenectady, New York, starring Lilla Coogan as Anya. Two of the eight confirmed international productions of Anastasia will open this fall, beginning in Madrid October 3 with Jana G贸mez in the starring role of the Spanish-language production. The German-language premiere, starring Judith Caspari, will open in Stuttgart November 13.
In the new music video above, Broadway鈥檚 original Anya, Christy Altomare, is joined by Coogan, G贸mez, and Caspari on the stage of the Broadhurst Theatre鈥攈ome of the currently running production.
Additional international productions of Anastasia will roll out in Holland, Korea, Japan, Mexico, Australia, and Brazil, with more to be announced.
Based on the 1997 Fox animated original, Anastasia features a score by Tony Award winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, who were Oscar-nominated for the show鈥檚 stand-out anthem, 鈥淛ourney to the Past.鈥 The Broadway production features a book by Tony Award winner Terrence McNally with direction by Tony winner Darko Tresnjak.
