Tony-nominated Waitress composer and recent Into the Woods star Sara Bareilles rang in the New Year December 31, 2024, with the PBS holiday special Sara Bareilles: New Year's Eve with the National Symphony Orchestra & Friends.

Part of the Next at the Kennedy Center series, Bareilles was also joined by Emily King, David Ryan Harris, Rob Moose, and Alan Hampton. Ben Folds, Madison Cunningham, and Ren茅e Elise Goldsberry were also part of the TV broadcast.
