SYNOPSIS
Bennett is trying really hard to keep it all together. He has just broken up with his boyfriend of 3 years and is moving in with his best friend Cooper.It鈥檚 election season, and he鈥檚 the speechwriter for Georgia鈥檚 only gay state senator, who鈥檚 engaged in a bloody campaign against a conservative darling. When his ex is attacked outside of a gay bar, Cooper and Bennett realize they aren't taken seriously and they decide to "make it better," on their terms. They鈥檙e not respected. They鈥檙e not feared. It鈥檚 time for that to change.
CAST
BENNETT RIGGS- CAST (30's, white, male)
Speechwriter for a state senator. Cautiously optimistic, affable. Conflicted.
COOPER HARLOW- CAST (30's, any ethnicity, male)
Bennett鈥檚 roommate. Caustic, clever, unpredictable. A fancy badass.
ALLISON HAINES- (40's, white, female)
Georgia's current state Senator. A former activist and the only out lesbian in the Georgia State Senate. Pragmatic, thoughtful, flawed. She now wonders what happens when she is no longer celebrated by the public.
PEGGY MUSGROVE- (40's, black, female)
Senator Haines' opponent. Genuine, witty, nimble. A black female Republican, who is perfectly aware of the conflicts and potential advantages that implies.
ADAM LOWELL- (30's, any ethnicity, male)
Allison Haine's cheif of staff, Bennett's co-worker. Undeniably appealing and charmingly square. Unafraid of vulnerability, well spoken, and very intentional in both how he presents himself and how he speaks.
KIMBERLY PHILLIPS- (30's, any ethnicity, female or trans-female)
Good humored, quick, and overworked. Probably really enjoyed her early twenties. Now living the life she thought she wanted with a husband and two children, while working as senator Allison Haines' office manager.
DIEDRA PRESTON- CAST (50's, any ethnicity, female)
A local broadcasting legend. Has the shrewd and discerning eye of a brilliant woman who believes her best days are still ahead of her.
