Theatre Development Fund, Inc. (鈥淭DF鈥�), is dedicated to sharing the power of the performing arts with everyone. As one of the only arts service organizations whose membership is the audience, our mission is to remove the financial, physical, and invisible barriers to access to the performing arts. Our vision will be complete when EVERY New Yorker (and visitor to NYC) feels ownership of and belonging in the live performing arts.
With an annual operating budget of $19,000,000, TDF fulfills its mission through two key areas of work:
1. TDF鈥檚 mission-driven ticketing programs provide broad access to audiences for whom price is a barrier to entry. Through the iconic TKTS Booths in Times Square and Lincoln Center, and through TDF鈥檚 membership programs, the organization serves more than 1M audience members per year.
2. TDF鈥檚 Programs remove financial, physical, and invisible barriers to attendance for the communities that need it most. These Programs serve close to 50,000 audience members annually, particularly those impacted by hearing loss and deafness, vision loss and blindness, mobility loss, or by intellectual and developmental disabilities. TDF also serves 10,000 high school students every year and more than 150 community organizations, including veterans, seniors, and other underserved communities. Our methodology includes both access to discount/free tickets, and the curation of an environment at the theatre where audiences can feel comfortable, safe, and experience the show on their own terms.
About the Position
TDF is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Marketing Assistant to support its Marketing team in all activities, including promoting TDF Memberships, the iconic TKTS Booths, TDF Programs, and more. This role is ideal for a team player with strong organizational and communication skills who is eager to contribute to all aspects of campaign execution, content creation, and departmental coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
鈥� Support the Marketing team in the creation and execution of marketing campaigns and initiatives.
鈥� Assist the VP of Marketing with the development of marketing plans and timelines.
鈥� Assist the Marketing Associate with content capture and the development of engaging social media content.
鈥� Maintain the approval process for a variety of marketing materials and projects to ensure timely delivery.
鈥� Manage departmental scheduling and coordinating meetings and timelines with both internal teams and external vendors.
鈥� Process invoices and maintain accurate records in budget tracking documents.
鈥� Assist with the execution of marketing email campaigns.
鈥� Provide in-person support for special events and performances.
鈥� Maintain department digital files and assist with general administrative tasks, including research, data entry, and archiving.
鈥� Other duties as assigned
About you:
鈥� 1鈥�2 years of experience in a marketing, communications, or administrative role
鈥� Strong written and verbal communication skills
鈥� Proficiency with social media platforms and basic content creation tools
鈥� Highly organized with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
鈥� Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with marketing tools like WordFly, Mail
Chimp, Adobe Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, etc.), or similar is a plus
鈥� Enthusiastic team player with a proactive, problem-solving attitude
鈥� Ability to be flexible and adaptable in response to shifting priorities and timelines
鈥� Passion for theatre or the performing arts
Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time, permanent role, and the salary range is $55K-$60K. In addition, TDF offers excellent benefits including:
