News Air Supply's Graham Russell's Musical Adaptation of "Treasure Island" Opens Tonight Graham Russell, one half of the duo that makes up the popular soft-rock band Air Supply, has penned the music and lyrics to Devil and the Deep, a new musical reimagining of Robert Louis Stevenson's "Treasure Island."

The show opens June 11 at Theater East, Off-Broadway, following previews that began June 10.

Devil and the Deep also features music and lyrics by Katie McGhie, with book and additional lyrics by Melissa Bell. Lisa Devine directs with choreography by Sarita Moore.

The cast features Broadway actors (Phantom of the Opera), Bill Newhall (!), Eric Coles (), Lisha McKoy (A Little Princess) and Courtney Shaw (); as well as Ethan Riordan, Juan Luis Espinal, Kyle Minshew, Nick Ritacco, Kire Tosevski, Skyler Volpe and Kalyn West.

Set in the mid-18th century, the story follows young Jim Hawkins' life-changing journey from the poor streets of Bristol to the Caribbean Islands, where he meets the infamous Long John Silver.

The creative team also includes Josh Freilich (musical direction and arrangements), Alisa Keegan (set design), Adrienne Carlile (costume design), Jess Burgess (lighting design), John D. Ivy (sound design), Alex Reed (fight choreography), and Tanya Khordoc and Barry Weil doing puppetry design. A stage adaptation of Treasure Island opened Off-Broadway in 2011, written by B.H. Barry and Vernon Morris.
