Broadway favorite and current West End star Audra McDonald has joined the cast of The Good Fight as a series regular. The six-time Tony Award winner will reprise her performance as Unites States Attorney Liz Lawrence (Alicia Florrick's law school "nemesis")鈥攁 role she first played on season four of CBS鈥� The Good Wife.
In the upcoming second season of the CBS All Access spin-off, however, it is revealed that Liz is also the ex-wife of attorney Adrian Boseman.
鈥淲e're thrilled that Audra McDonald will return to the fictional Chicago of The Good Fight,鈥� said Executive Producers Robert and Michelle King in a statement. 鈥淎fter seeing her facility with both comedy and drama, we were dying for the chance to work with her again. Audra brings intelligence, strength, and wit to Liz Lawrence.鈥�
McDonald can currently be seen on the London stage in Lady Day at Emerson鈥檚 Bar and Grill, in which she reprises her performance as jazz and blues legend Billie Holiday. The play with music earned McDonald her record-breaking sixth Tony Award in 2014. She last starred on Broadway in 2016's Shuffle Along.
