Beth Malone assumes the role of the Angel in the Broadway revival of Angels of America full-time beginning May 23. The Tony nominee has been playing the role鈥攑lus the additional parts the track entails鈥攐n Wednesday performances of both parts (Millennium Approaches and Perestroika) at the Neil Simon Theatre.

The limited engagement will run through July 15.
Malone takes over for Amanda Lawrence, who opened the production both on Broadway and at London鈥檚 National Theatre.
The revival of Tony Kushner鈥檚 two-part epic is the in Broadway history with , including Best Revival of a Play, Best Direction of a Play for Marianne Elliott, and nods for performers Andrew Garfield, Nathan Lane, Denise Gough, and Susan Brown.
Malone earned a Tony nomination in 2015 for her performance as Alison Bechdel in Fun Home; she previously appeared on Broadway in Ring of Fire. Additional credits include The Unsinkable Molly Brown (having recently returned to the musical in a from Kathleen Marshall) and The Marvelous Wonderettes.
In addition to Garfield as Prior Walter, Lane as Roy Cohn, Gough as Harper Pitt, and Brown as Hannah Pitt, the cast includes James McArdle as Louis Ironson, Lee Pace as Joseph Pitt, and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett as Belize.
