Everything Everywhere All at Once Oscar nominee Stephanie Hsu, seen on Broadway in Be More Chill and SpongeBob SquarePants, starred in the title role of Signature Theatre's April 24 benefit reading of Sarah Ruhl鈥檚 Eurydice.

Part of the Signature Gala held at the Pershing Square Signature Center, the reading was directed by Les Waters. Eurydice made its Off-Broadway premiere in 2007.

The cast also featured Tony winner Bill Irwin (Endgame, Who鈥檚 Afraid of Virginia Woolf?) as Eurydice鈥檚 Father, Tony nominee Tom Sturridge (The Sandman, Sea Wall/A Life) as Orpheus, and Wallace Shawn (My Dinner with Andre, Aunt Dan and Lemon) as A Nasty Interesting Man/The Lord of the Underworld, plus Michael Cyril Creighton (Only Murders in the Building, Spotlight), Jacob Ming-Trent (Watchmen, Shrek the Musical), and Heather Alicia Simms (Ma Rainey鈥檚 Black Bottom, A Raisin in the Sun, Fairview) as the Stones, with Ruhl reading stage directions.

The evening, which raised over $735,000 for Signature's artistic programs and playwright residencies, also featured several guest speakers: actor Daphne Rubin-Vega, playwright Samuel D. Hunter, director and Signature trustee Lila Neugebauer, and Signature trustee Nina Matis. The live auction was led by Robbie Gordy.

Other Signature alums in attendance included Charles Mee, Crystal Dickinson, Shaina Taub, Grace McLean, Lois Smith, and Zane Pais.

Ruhl began her Signature Spotlight Residency this year with the Kate Whoriskey-directed world premiere of Letters from Max, a ritual, which recently concluded its extended run.
