The new tome, co-written with Patrick Pacheco, is due in April.

Three-time Tony honoree Chita Rivera will celebrate her upcoming memoir this spring, appearing In Conversation with friends and fellow Tony winners Nathan Lane, Harvey Fierstein, and Laura Benanti as well as Rivera's co-writer, Patrick Pacheco

As previously reported, Chita: A Memoir is due April 25 from HarperOne. The upcoming book will cover the West Side Story and Chicago star's early life and long Broadway career.

Rivera says, 鈥淚鈥檝e long considered writing my memoirs, but I鈥檝e never been one to look back鈥ntil now. Now it feels right and with Patrick Pacheco, I couldn鈥檛 be more pleased to pass on my experience to a new generation. I hope my words and thoughts about my life and career resonate and readers just might discover some things about me they never knew.鈥�

April 24 at 7 PM in New York City with Nathan Lane at Temple Emanu-El Streicker Cultural Center;

April 30 at 3 PM in Poughkeepsie, New York, with Harvey Fierstein; 

May 4 at 7 PM in Montclair, New Jersey, with Laura Benanti at Succeed2gether鈥檚 Montclair Literary Festival

May 10 at 7 PM in Madison, Connecticut, with Patrick Pacheco at RJ Julia Booksellers at First Congregational Church;

May 15 at 7:30 PM in New York City with Patrick Pacheco at the Drama Book Shop;

With a more than 60鈥搚ear career on Broadway, Rivera is perhaps best known for creating the roles of Anita in West Side Story, Rose in Bye Bye Birdie, Velma in Chicago, and Aurora in Kiss of the Spider Woman, winning Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical Tony Awards for Spider Woman and The Rink. She was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Tony Award in 2018, recognizing a career that also includes performances in Nine, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, and, most recently, The Visit. Rivera is closely associated with the writing team of John Kander and Fred Ebb, having starred in their musicals Chicago, The Rink, Kiss of the Spider Woman, and The Visit, but the memoir will also cover working with such theatrical luminaries as Stephen Sondheim, Bob Fosse, Dick Van Dyke, Arthur Laurents, Gwen Verdon, Leonard Bernstein, Liza Minnelli, and Hal Prince, among others.
