Theatre Calgary has announced the lineup of productions for its 2025-2026 season. Six shows are slated for the Canadian company's upcoming season, including a world premiere musical, a new production of Come From Away, and more.

The season will kick off with an encore run of Farren Timoteo's Made in Italy, which played a sold-out engagement at Theatre Calgary in 2023. The production will run August 26–September 21 in the Martha Cohen Theatre, with Daryl Cloran directing. Timoteo will return to star as over 25 characters in the solo comedy about family, tradition, and food.

From September 30-October 26, Jeffrey Hatcher's adaptation of Frederick Knott's Dial M for Murder will play the Max Bell Theatre. Jillian Keiley will direct the thriller centered on Tony, a man who suspects his wife may be cheating on him.

Charles DickensA Christmas Carol will follow, running November 28-December 31 in the Max Bell Theatre. Theatre Calgary Artistic Director Stafford Arima will direct Geoffrey Simon Brown's adaptation of the holiday classic, with Doug McKeag leading the company as Ebenezer Scrooge.

From February 14-March 15, 2026, Theatre Calgary will give a world premiere to the new musical The Tale of the Gifted Prince. Based on the book The Remarkable Journey of Prince Jen, the work features a book and lyrics by Lezlie Wade, with music by Daniel Green. Darren Lee will direct and choreograph the production, which will play the Max Bell Theatre. Set in a kingdom on the edge of rebellion, The Tale of the Gifted Prince follows Prince Ren, who embarks on a quest to save his father’s throne.

Next in the season will be the Canadian premiere of Tony nominee Amy Herzog's adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House, which premiered on Broadway in 2023 with Jessica Chastain starring. Anita Rochon will direct the work, which will play the Max Bell Theatre April 7-May 3.

The season will close with a new production of Come From Away, running May 26-June 21 in the Max Bell Theatre. Tony nominee Jesse Robb (Water for Elephants) will direct and choreograph the new staging. With music, a book, and lyrics by Irene Sankoff and David Hein, the Tony-nominated musical tracks the events that unfolded when 38 planes were diverted to the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, on September 11, 2001.

Casting for all productions will be announced at a later date.

"Our 2025-26 season is rife with magic, laughs, mystery, drama, and music," Arima said in a statement. "This new season has been thoughtfully curated to represent a cross-section of plays that will appeal to the widest of Calgary's audiences. We will continue to fill our shows with the amazing talent in our community, along with bringing in directors whose unique visions will bring these exciting and challenging plays to life."
