The D23 Expo begins September 9 in Anaheim, California, featuring a virtual reality theatre that lets attendees immerse themselves in Broadway performances of Disney shows.
Using virtual reality headsets, attendees can go inside 鈥淔riend Like Me鈥� from , 鈥淟et It Go鈥� from , and 鈥淐ircle of Life鈥� in .
The Lion King opened on Broadway in 1997 under the direction of , who won the 1998 Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical, becoming the first woman in Broadway history to win the category. The musical received six Tony Awards in total and continues to play Broadway鈥檚 Minskoff Theatre. Aladdin, which opened in 2014, continues to play the New Amsterdam Theatre. Completing its run in 2020, Frozen played 825 performances at the St. James Theatre and is currently touring the U.S. and playing London鈥檚 West End.
The D23 Expo brings together Disney fans for a three-day event with presentations, experiences, concerts, sneak peeks, and more.
