Max Crumm, seen on Broadway in Grease and Disaster!, will star in the new musical The Evolution of Mann, which will make its New York premiere beginning September 23 at The Cell, 338 W. 23rd St.
Directed by Joe Barros, the limited engagement will officially open October 4 for a run through October 21. Additional casting will be announced.
The show features a score by Drama Desk nominee聽Douglas J. Cohen听(Children鈥檚 Letters to God, The Opposite of Sex) and聽book and lyrics by Dan Elish听(13: The Musical) based on his novel Nine Wives.
The Evolution of Mann follows Henry Mann, a 30-something single New Yorker eager to settle down. After聽receiving an invitation to his ex-fianc茅e鈥檚 wedding, he and his lesbian roommate embark on a quest to find Henry鈥檚 soulmate鈥攈is perfect date.
The production team includes music supervisor Vadim Feichtner, set designer Libby Stadstad, lighting designer Chris Steckel, costume designer Siena Zo毛 Allen, projections designer Nathan Scheuer, sound designer Ellen Fitton, casting director Wojcik|Seay Casting, production stage manager Kayla Santos, associate director Brian聽Reager, and associate producer聽Liz Flemming.
