Four-time Tony winner Harvey Fierstein releases his new memoir, I Was Better Last Night, March 1 on the label.
To celebrate the release of the book, the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center hosts a free live-streamed conversation with Fierstein and journalist Michael Musto March 1 at 6 PM ET. Fierstein鈥檚 new memoir reveals never-before-told stories of his personal struggles and conflict, of sex and romance, and of his career, which has transported him from community theatre in Brooklyn to the lights of Broadway, to the excesses of Hollywood, and back.
Fierstein won two 1983 Tony Awards鈥擝est Actor in a Play and Best Play鈥攆or his groundbreaking opus Torch Song Trilogy. He also won a Best Book of a Musical Tony in 1984 for Jerry Herman鈥檚 La Cage aux Folles, and a Best Actor in a Musical Tony for Hairspray. He will be represented on Broadway later this season with the revised book for the eagerly awaited revival of Funny Girl.
